Chromite sand for foundry AFS45-50 from South Africa
Description:
Chromite sand for foundry is a natural spinel composed mainly of oxides of chromium and iron. It is a by-product of ferrochrome production and is primarily used in foundry applications and glass making. Chromite sand used in foundry as a highly refractory abrasive for molds and cores. Originates from South Africa. The sand is produced by crushing chromium ore, washing, drying, de-dusting, sieving and separating by grain size in spiral concentrators.
